Well, Audi certainly made a meal of the reveal of the next generation Audi A8r in Miami in the early hours of this morning. They roped in a Charlies Angel (Lucy Lui) to play host for the evening and, despite her charms, the launch was a bit of a drawn-out, back-slapping fest.

Ford unveiled its new 2013 Mondeo at the Detroit auto show - the new Mondeo is in fact now a Fusion in Euro drag. Under the One Ford rules, most major car projects are in fact global affairs, so the Mondeo follows in the footsteps of the Focus, also unveiled in Detroit two years ago and brought to Europe a year later. We'll have a similarly long wait for the Ford Fusion to make the leap to the European Mondeo, with a launch slated for spring 2013.

The Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo has been launched with the usual array of tweaks and titivations Skoda likes to use on its Monte Carlo models, but no extra power. That means a trim level based on the mid-range Citigo SE spec with black highlights for the exterior on the alloys, front and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, grill and door mirrors and a lowering of the suspension for a more dynamic appearance.
